Travel Experience International / Zola Levitt International Ministries
Day 1 (Wednesday 6/7/06)
0616 CST, 1416 in Israel - Over the south of Italy. Just 2-1/2 more hours until we land in Israel! My 1st time in HaEretz! I left my house around 0450 yesterday. I had to go through Miami & New York, and now we're nearly in Israel!
1650 - First glimpse of Israel through the window.
1654 - Touchdown!
2145 - Had 2+ hour drive to hotel, then dinner, now arrived in room.
2215 - I'm exhausted! I slept about 2-1/2 hours on the
plane, and nearly dozed off on the bus ride here. We drove by the wall that
divides the West Bank from the Israeli state. The "poor, oppressed"
Arabs mostly live in houses that look fit for J. Lo. Why doesn't the media ever
show that?!
When we got to our rooms, we had a "Rose of Sharon"
from Sandra Levitt, and a card that read "Welcome home." Even though
I've never been here before, and I don't really understand the language, and the
food is different here, I really am "home." I will walk where Jesus
walked, view the sites the patriarchs saw, and see the land where Adonai has
chosen to set His name, and walk among His chosen people. I will see the beloved
city, Jerusalem, and Mount Zion.
How can one have a heart after God's own heart (as King David
did) if one does not love God's beloved land, city, and people? God's unfailing
love for them endures forever.
